UMD undergraduates are making an impact on literacy policy in Maryland. Public Policy students Sophia Stein and Alvaro Ceron-Ruiz co-authored “Literacy for All: Working Toward a Comprehensive Literacy Policy in Maryland”, with contributions from MILE’s Policy & Outreach Pillar. Their white paper evaluates effective approaches to statewide literacy policy.

Sophia Stein also authored “Blueprint Implementation and Literacy”, with support from MILE. This paper examines The Blueprint for Maryland’s Future and its benefits for advancing literacy across the state.
