MILE Advocates

MILE’s annual advocacy event, focusing on teacher education for literacy.

How It Started

In 2024, MILE began its annual advocacy day celebration through a partnership withthe University of Maryland's School of Public Policy, Morgan State University's School of Education and Urban Studies, and the Karabelle Pizzigati Initiative. Each year, Students and faculty visit the Maryland State House to advocate for relevant policy.

In 2026, MILE spearheaded their own advocacy celebration, MILE Advocates, to continue these efforts.
